Animotos for 7 Habits of a Happy Kid

Animotos for 7 Habits of a Happy Kid

Classroom Potential Uses
I plan on using this particular Animoto presentation to help my students understand the 7 habits of an Effective Person. My district focuses on a character trait a month that is the 7 habits, just reworded. A lot of times, the students do not understand what the traits or the habits. This may help students realize the importance of empowering each other to be leaders in their schools and communities.  I plan to incorporate The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, a book written by Stephen Covey that teaches people the necessary skills they need in this 21st century to live happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives as responsible, productive citizens.  These habits are universal and are effective for all people to learn, but there is a "kid" version called the "7 Habits of Happy Kids," which is geared to the habits specifically for children. I have learned to appreciate the philosophy of the 7 Habits myself.  They make so much sense and the students in my class NEED to be taught these things desperately.  Character education and general life skills are so often not taught at home, so I’m trying to fill in those gaps at school, and these 7 Habits do a fabulous job of just that.  I have a huge heart for teaching my students skills like patience, perseverance, responsibility, courage, and integrity.  They need to hear words like these and learn how to internalize what it means to exhibit these qualities in their everyday lives.  The 7 Habits help me to teach these skills.
